The toddler storytime series combines a brief group program with a longer period of guided play. Each gathering begins with 20 minutes featuring picture books, songs and fingerplay. Children then get 30 minutes of activities that introduce early reading, math and science concepts.

Upcoming Tuesday sessions are set for November 10, November 17 and November 24, 2026. The December schedule includes December 1, December 8, December 15, December 22 and December 29, 2026.

Parents and caregivers participate alongside their children, making the program a shared play experience. The sessions develop literacy and social abilities, along with STEAM learning across science, technology, engineering, art and math. These kindergarten-related skills can also be explored at home. Families may also get a library card for their child. Space is limited, so parties numbering 10 or more should phone beforehand.

Spokane County Library District works to welcome participants of all abilities. For accommodations at an in-person program, including ASL or hearing assistance, contact comments@scld.org or 509.893.8200 at least five business days in advance.
