Week 9 brings several direct routes into the postseason, along with two possible multi-team tiebreakers. In 3A, three teams could end with two losses while competing for two berths. That outcome would send them to Shadle Park on Saturday for a 1 p.m. “Kansas” tiebreaker. The winner and runner-up would claim second and third, while the other team would be eliminated. Third place would then face the Mid-Columbia Conference’s third-place team Tuesday in a district play-in, creating the possibility of four opponents over 11 days.

Ridgeline has secured a Week 10 place and can win its first 3A division championship by defeating Cheney. A Cheney victory instead gives the Blackhawks the championship and turns Mt. Spokane at University into an elimination matchup. If Cheney falls, the result could produce either a head-to-head decision favoring Mt. Spokane or, with a University win, the three-team tiebreaker. In 4A, Gonzaga Prep and Lewis and Clark meet Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at ONE Spokane Stadium. The winner receives the division’s second automatic Week 10 bid; the loser heads to Tuesday’s third-place play-in.

The 2A race also could require an extra game. A three-team deadlock at two losses for the last two positions would be settled Monday, beginning at 5 p.m. inside ONE Spokane Stadium. East Valley guarantees itself at least a tiebreaker opportunity by beating Clarkston. Pullman holds the head-to-head edge over Rogers, whose Week 10 outcome depends on other results because its league schedule is complete. Elsewhere, Mead has already secured the 4A league championship, West Valley owns the 2A title, and Riverside and Lakeside are set as the first and second NEA seeds for the 1A Round of 24.
