Spokane preservation awards set for Nov. 15 at Montvale
Nominations for preservation and education awards are open until noon Oct. 12.

Spokane Preservation Advocates’ Awards Night returns November 15, 2026, marking more than a decade of recognizing local preservation work. The Montvale Hotel is the venue, with the celebration scheduled from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
The annual honors cover a wide range of contributions to Spokane’s historic character. Eligible work includes restoring urban homes or commercial properties, maintaining historic landscapes, preserving culturally important sites, and creating new development compatible with nearby historic architecture. Separate categories recognize people who teach or advocate for preservation, volunteers with sustained service, and individuals whose lifetime work has influenced preservation and community service.
Media projects may also be nominated, including books, websites, signs, articles, and other public materials that build awareness of Spokane heritage. People who restore their own historic, non-commercial property have a DIY category. Nominations must arrive by noon on Monday, October 12th. Named honors include the SPA Founders Award, Ann Price Advocacy Award, Legacy Award, and Joanne Moyer Award.
